Students pursuing the grad track option must be enrolled in the department's Cybersecurity, BS program. Eligibility begins at the conclusion of their junior year. Admission consideration occurs after completing a minimum of 75 credit hours. A key indicator is the student's preparedness for CSE Senior Design in the upcoming fall term.

The Cybersecurity B.S. program aims to cultivate highly proficient professionals skilled in both defensive and offensive cybersecurity, incorporating security from system conception through development. Aligned with ABET accreditation standards, the curriculum focuses on core competencies including: Creative thinking, Analytical reasoning, Inventiveness, and Solution development.

Our curriculum fosters an interactive, project-based learning environment through individual and team activities focused on practical secure computing applications. You'll build a robust cybersecurity foundation from instructors with industry experience, while gaining hands-on practice to apply your knowledge. These experiences equip you with the essential skills for a successful career in cybersecurity.

Graduation + 3 years attendance (includes U.S. Department of Defense school)
College/University
Completion of Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree
Completion of two university-level, academic English courses (excludes English as a Second Language courses) for a total of 6 credit hours with a grade of C or higher in both courses
Completion of 30+ hours of university-level, academic coursework with an overall GPA of 2.25 or equivalent. Student must be enrolled at the time of application and must have maintained continuous enrollment prior to their transfer to UNT.
