Create. Develop. Program. Earn. Skilled technical communicators are highly sought after for their ability to simplify complex subjects and leverage technology to enhance information accessibility. The Technical Communication Department focuses on research-backed methods to equip students with essential workplace skills: content creation, visual design, and programming. Our Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees train graduates for roles as technical writers/editors, content specialists, or UX professionals, typically collaborating on teams to produce manuals, digital content, and business proposals for IT, consulting, and healthcare organizations. BS graduates gain specialized qualifications for tech-intensive roles (such as web developers or systems analysts) in software and IT firms.

Our Technical Communication Lab features state-of-the-art equipment and software for academic projects, with support staff available to teach essential digital skills including document creation, layout design, image editing, and website development for professional communications. The university's prime location in Dallas-Fort Worth - home to the nation's sixth-largest concentration of technical writers - provides exceptional internship and employment prospects.
