The Master of Science (MS) program aims to deepen computer science expertise and develop research skills, equipping graduates for high-level careers in computing disciplines. Those earning an MS degree also gain excellent preparation for pursuing a PhD in computer science.
Students can collaborate with faculty engaged in pioneering research across diverse fields including bioinformatics, virtual reality, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other emerging areas.
During the 2019-2020 academic year, faculty secured over $800,000 in new research funding from prestigious organizations like the National Science Foundation and National Institute of Standards and Technology.
UNCG holds the distinction of being among just seven public universities in North Carolina accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
