The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Drama with a Theatre Education focus equips undergraduates to excel as professional theatre instructors for elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (9-12) levels. Students in this program undertake a comprehensive 128-credit curriculum covering all aspects of theatre within a liberal arts framework, combined with professional education courses. The program features classes in: playwriting, performance techniques, vocal training, directing, educational drama, theatre history, technical production, makeup artistry, theatre administration, production management, and design disciplines including sets, lighting, and costumes.

Both BFA and BA degree paths offer varying levels of specialization in theatrical studies. BA candidates develop as multidisciplinary artists, blending theatre with complementary fields to enrich their artistic approach. BFA candidates focus intensively on mastering a specific theatre discipline.
BA Drama students often complement their studies with minors such as Gender Studies, African American Studies, Arts Management, Psychology, Visual Arts, and other interdisciplinary fields. International study opportunities are strongly recommended.
