The program mandates 39 hours of graduate-level coursework, structured in three phases: (1) foundational courses, (2) specialized electives, and (3) research components. These stages must be sequentially completed to earn the MPA degree. Core curriculum covers political and legal frameworks, economic and social dynamics, organizational leadership, financial management principles, and data-driven decision-making tools. Up to six (6) pre-admission graduate credits may count toward the 39-hour requirement, pending MPA Director approval. Students must fulfill a professional experience component through either an approved internship or relevant work engagement (refer to Professional Involvement and Internship options). Beyond coursework, a capstone project on a substantive topic is required for degree completion.
