The Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Sciences from the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) equips students with foundational knowledge and exposure to key biomedical disciplines, preparing them for professional programs like medical, veterinary, or dental schools. Certificate participants can also transfer earned credits toward the department's MS or PhD in Biology programs if their career aspirations change. The curriculum offers diverse courses covering anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, embryology, and cellular biology. Students may enroll in up to 3 credit hours of BIOL 6901 Mentored Non-Thesis Laboratory Research, allowing direct collaboration with faculty on specialized projects. Course substitutions or related course approvals may be granted by the Certificate Director and Graduate Programs Director.
