The Strength and Conditioning Concentration equips students with the expertise required to become Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Participants learn to apply scientifically validated methods for conducting fitness evaluations, designing training regimens, and overseeing strength programs. The program includes 25 credit hours covering key competencies for certification, culminating in an intensive internship mentored by an NSCA-certified professional. Graduates are well-prepared to pursue the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.
This program trains students to implement research-backed health and fitness protocols, covering areas such as client screening, fitness testing, exercise programming, and safety protocols. The 19-credit curriculum develops competencies for exercise physiology certification, finishing with a hands-on internship supervised by a qualified professional. Students are advised to pursue the ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist examination.
The Pre-Professional track offers customizable study plans for students pursuing dual degrees, graduate school prerequisites, or specialized interests. While completing 27 core credits, students tailor remaining coursework to their career objectives. This concentration permits up to two Exercise Science internships for academic credit, providing practical experience in relevant settings.
