The Bachelor of Arts in Special Education offers two licensure options: (1) Special Education: General Curriculum or (2) Special Education: Adapted Curriculum. The General Curriculum track leads to a Standard Professional 1 (SP1) license, preparing graduates to teach K-12 students with mild disabilities such as learning disabilities, mild cognitive impairments, and emotional/behavioral disorders. The Adapted Curriculum path results in the same SP1 license but focuses on instructing K-12 students with severe disabilities, including significant cognitive impairments and multiple disabilities.
