A radiologist assistant (RA) is a highly skilled radiologic technologist operating under a radiologist's guidance. RAs improve patient care by supporting radiologists with evaluations, patient coordination, and imaging procedures. While they perform preliminary image reviews, RAs don't issue formal diagnostic reports (Advanced Practice Advisory Panel, 2002). To qualify, candidates must hold ARRT certification in radiography and complete an advanced educational program featuring an accredited RA curriculum along with clinical training supervised by a radiologist (Advanced Practice Advisory Panel, 2002). Baccalaureate degree (may apply while completing a baccalaureate degree, completion date must be prior to RA program enrollment date)
Current ARRT Certification in Radiography
Minimum of 3.0 GPA in radiography program and 3.0 GPA in B.S. program
BCLS certification*
Minimum 1 year full-time experience in direct patient care, after passing the ARRT Radiography Exam. Applicants with additional years of practice and/or diversified experience may be more competitive. its international equivalent with an accredited institution an average grade of B (cumulative GPA 3.0) or better. One unofficial transcript from each university attended must be uploaded within the application. All unofficial transcripts must be uploaded to your application in order for your application to be reviewed. Please do not mail transcripts as part of your admission application, we only accept unofficial uploads for application evaluation.
