The MPS is a 35-credit, interdisciplinary graduate program offered without a thesis requirement. Students can pursue this degree either fully online or through traditional on-campus study.
Program graduates will develop expertise in: Leading major projects involving clinical and public health information systems, Creating and assessing health information systems that influence medical decisions and care quality, Processing and overseeing health data to enhance clinical outcomes, biomedical studies, and public health initiatives. This collaborative program leverages the expertise of multiple highly-ranked UNC departments, bringing together professors and researchers from fields including computer science, public health, biostatistics, medicine, nursing, dentistry, and pharmaceutical sciences.
The MPS maintains robust connections with technology and biotechnology firms in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park - a premier innovation hub in North America frequently likened to Silicon Valley. RTP provides students with exceptional opportunities to engage in practical work involving cutting-edge analytics, machine learning, and software engineering initiatives.
