Starting in 2024, our innovative one-year Strategic Communication program equips you for careers in advertising, marketing communications, and public relations across agencies, businesses, nonprofits, and government sectors. The 33-credit curriculum spans 12 months, with coursework during fall and spring terms, followed by a summer practicum and capstone project.
Our master's programs provide specialized tracks across three disciplines. Journalism and Strategic Communication courses accelerate professional growth for both new graduates and experienced practitioners. The Theory and Research track readies students for PhD programs and research-oriented careers. J.D./M.A. candidates pursue this program alongside their law degree from UNC School of Law.
