Our updated curriculum debuting in 2023 enables budding and early-stage journalists to master specialized professional skills through an immersive 12-month program. Participants will earn 30 credit hours within this intensive year, beginning with a preparatory bootcamp in late summer before fall classes and finishing with a capstone project the following summer. Journalism students can choose from three specialized tracks:
Interactive design journalism emphasizes creating engaging digital narratives and developing content for interactive web platforms.
Public life reporting cultivates investigative journalism skills, empowering students to cover critical topics like education, healthcare, housing, immigration, workers' rights, policing, and systemic discrimination.
Video journalism trains students in multimedia storytelling techniques, from gathering audio-visual materials to producing both short-form reports and feature-length documentaries.
