The Globalization and International Development research team examines various aspects of global integration processes and the complex, multi-level interactions within development networks worldwide. These globalization trends (along with the counter-globalization and global justice responses they've provoked) are transforming the spatial organization of international and local economic flows, including capital, labor, technology, data, commodities, and services. Scholars in this field investigate topics ranging from material culture and post-Soviet industrial systems to geopolitics, religious studies, gender identity, food systems, natural resource governance, mining sectors, human migration patterns, racial dynamics, post-colonial studies, and global environmental governance with a focus on ecological equity.
