The Doctor of Philosophy program equips students for careers in academia or research across disciplines that employ statistical methods, operations research, and other quantitative approaches. The curriculum features three specialized concentrations: Machine Learning, Business Analytics, and Computational Finance. Students must select a concentration upon starting their first semester. Each track follows a tailored course sequence to deliver advanced theoretical knowledge in the chosen field. In exceptional cases, students may request approval for a customized concentration, subject to departmental faculty and advisor approval. Track changes are permitted under special conditions with graduate advisor authorization, though this may extend degree completion timelines. Detailed course requirements for each concentration are provided in subsequent sections.
