The Chemistry Department provides graduate studies culminating in master's degrees (both MA and MS options, including a non-thesis track) and doctoral degrees across multiple specializations: analytical, biological, inorganic, organic, physical, and polymer/materials chemistry. Our interdisciplinary approach fosters strong collaborations with units like Physics, Biochemistry & Biophysics, Environmental Science & Engineering, and the Biological & Biomedical Sciences Program. The curriculum aims to deliver comprehensive training in advanced chemical concepts while enabling specialized expertise through rigorous research. Chemistry PhD graduates emerge as autonomous researchers with sophisticated technical abilities, capable of mentoring others in their field. They develop exceptional written and oral communication skills for effectively sharing scientific
knowledge.
Admission to the Ph.D. program is after completing the M.A./M.S. degree in the department requires approval by the Chemistry Graduate Studies Committee.
The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
