We aim to train outstanding clinicians capable of delivering patient-centered, evidence-based audiology services across diverse healthcare environments.

Situated within the UNC School of Medicine and closely affiliated with UNC Hospitals, our program offers exceptional training in pediatric and lifespan audiology, diagnostic procedures, hearing assistance devices, cochlear implants, vestibular rehabilitation, and auditory rehabilitation. UNC's nationally recognized AuD program cultivates clinical expertise in both technical skills and patient communication.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Clinical Doctorate in Audiology holds accreditation from both the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) and the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA).

Qualification Requirements

It is not necessary that you have a background, or degree, in Speech and Hearing Sciences. We have had successful audiology students with majors in, for example, Biology, Linguistics, English, Journalism, Music, Computer Science, in addition to those with majors in Communication Sciences. The minimum GPA is 3.0, although those admitted into the program typically have higher GPAs. The average GPA ranges from 3.5 to 3.9.

The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
