The Department of Statistics & Operations Research offers an undergraduate program in Statistics and Analytics. This Bachelor of Science degree equips students with comprehensive training in probability theory, statistical methods, data interpretation, optimization techniques, and both stochastic and deterministic modeling approaches. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for professional opportunities or advanced studies in diverse technical domains including statistical research, operations management, industrial systems, biostatistical applications, strategic decision-making, financial modeling, and actuarial studies.
Applicant must attain a final cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and complete a minimum of 45 academic credit hours earned from UNC–Chapel Hill courses. Applicant must take at least half of their major course requirements (courses and credit hours) at UNC–Chapel Hill and earn a minimum of 18 hours of C or better in the major core requirements (some majors require 21 hours).
