The Computer Science Department provides education and conducts research across fundamental computer science domains such as software development, web technologies, internet computing, network systems, hardware architecture, operating systems, compiler design, parallel and distributed computing, computational theory, and computer graphics. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (B.S.) serves as the ideal foundation for both advanced academic pursuits in the field and technical professions in software engineering, computational sciences, network administration, information technology, and digital commerce. Our alumni are exceptionally prepared for professional roles not only in conventional computing and telecommunications sectors but also in varied industries like financial services and consulting firms where computing and data management form the core of business operations.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
