The Chemistry Department serves around 800 undergraduate students across four specialized programs: BS Chemistry, BS Chemistry (Biochemistry concentration), BS Chemistry (Polymer science focus), and BA Chemistry. The demanding curriculum equips chemistry students with strong foundations for diverse career paths, including advanced studies in graduate programs, healthcare fields like medicine and pharmacy, legal careers in patent law, education roles, and various industrial positions. Chemistry majors also gain valuable hands-on experience through undergraduate research opportunities, which form an integral part of the academic experience.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
