Philosophical inquiry into core questions concerning existence, truth, and ethics forms a vital part of human civilization and well-rounded education. The Philosophy Department strives to deepen and share insights into these enduring inquiries and their historical pursuit by great thinkers. We equally focus on cultivating the analytical and evaluative skills needed to thoughtfully examine these issues. Our undergraduate program reflects these goals through diverse course offerings taught by an esteemed, globally renowned faculty. (Numerous courses fulfill UNC College of Arts and Sciences general education requirements.)
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
