The Bachelor of Arts in Music provides a highly adaptable program that allows students to combine their studies with other disciplines. Those enrolled in this degree frequently pair it with majors such as biology, chemistry, history, economics, pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, pre-dentistry, global studies, psychology, and numerous other fields. Requiring fewer courses than the Bachelor of Music, this program is ideal for students who want to explore music at the university level while dedicating time to another academic pursuit. Each semester, we support approximately 50 piano students, comprising music majors focusing on piano, those with piano as a secondary instrument, music minors, and non-music majors. Our students have earned awards in solo and concerto competitions across North Carolina and the Southern region, securing scholarships and assistantships at top-tier universities and conservatories nationwide.
