The Chemistry Department serves around 800 undergraduate students across four specialized programs: BS Chemistry, BS Chemistry (Biochemistry concentration), BS Chemistry (Polymer science focus), and BA Chemistry. The demanding curriculum equips chemistry students with strong foundations for diverse career paths including advanced studies (graduate programs, medical/dental/pharmacy schools), legal careers (patent law), education, and various industrial fields. Undergraduate research opportunities, a highlighted aspect of the program, allow chemistry majors to engage with innovative scientific exploration.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
