The Sociology Department provides a Master of Arts program designed to equip students with advanced skills while meeting workforce demands in the New Orleans area. This program has a twofold purpose: preparing learners for Sociology PhD programs and enhancing professional opportunities by strengthening research and analytical capabilities. The curriculum covers broad sociological studies with focused options in Gender Sociology and Environment/Disaster Sociology. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.
Applicants enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree or international equivalent will be considered for conditional admission.
