The Department provides Ph.D. programs specializing in Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Medicinal, Materials, Organic, and Physical Chemistry. Faculty research often spans multiple disciplines, bridging traditional academic boundaries. This graduate program equips students with comprehensive foundational knowledge through core coursework while offering intensive training in their chosen specialization.
First-year studies feature adaptable coursework tailored to each student's needs, preparing them for autonomous academic work. Doctoral candidates primarily focus on original research within their selected chemistry field. Most students complete the program in approximately 5 years when entering with a bachelor's degree. Dissertation projects are conducted under faculty guidance, with students encouraged to select their research advisor and initiate projects by their first semester's conclusion. Additional program specifics are available in the Graduate Student Handbook.
