The Honors in English program welcomes all eligible UNO students, regardless of their major or University Honors enrollment status. To participate, students must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and complete nine credit hours of honors coursework. Non-English majors must additionally complete 12 semester hours in department-approved English classes, with a minimum of six credits at the 3000-level or higher.
The program culminates with an honors thesis, which may incorporate three hours of prior course credit. Upon successfully defending their English honors thesis, students qualify for graduation with honors distinction.

Qualification Requirements
Official high school transcripts must be sent directly from the school. The transcripts must be in the original language, accompanied by an official English translation.
