Bachelor's Degree
The University of New Mexico's three-year MFA in Dramatic Writing program consists of 60 credit hours to earn the degree.
This program provides ongoing chances for graduate writers to develop new productions. Students can prepare scripts for the yearly Linnell Festival of New Plays, submit works to local theaters, or contribute to Theatre X's student-curated season. The Linnell Festival showcases original productions across various campus and off-campus locations during its three-week run. Notably, five program participants have received national playwriting honors through this festival, with four recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
