The English Language and Literatures Department at the University of New Mexico is home to approximately 50 faculty members and more than 100 graduate students, with nearly every undergraduate student taking at least one of our courses during their academic journey. Our department plays a pivotal role at UNM, as the institution recognizes the value of strong Humanities education and the benefits it offers students across all disciplines and backgrounds. This program demands 33 credit hours of interdisciplinary study (with a minimum of 21 credits in English), Latin language proficiency, a comprehensive MA examination, and a significant collection of academic work.
