Globally acclaimed for its outstanding research and academic programs, the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department boasts 32 tenured/tenure-track professors and more than 500 enrolled students. ECE UNM's faculty conducts cutting-edge research across vital strategic domains such as applied electromagnetics, photonics, nanotechnology, communications and signal processing, biomedical technologies, sustainable energy solutions, control systems, information systems, and network infrastructure. Several faculty members are distinguished leaders in their disciplines, with the department currently housing eight IEEE fellows.
