Students pursuing the MI Concentration engage in research projects guided by faculty mentors from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine's Department of Radiology. This academic department is committed to delivering outstanding healthcare services to communities across New Mexico and the Southwest, while also offering thorough educational programs for future radiologists, medical physicists, technologists, and imaging researchers. Faculty research labs within Radiology explore all medical imaging methods, with particular emphasis on cancer detection, brain imaging, studies on addiction and cognitive function, as well as advanced quantitative imaging approaches for both laboratory and clinical settings.
