The Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies is an interdisciplinary program that familiarizes students with the fundamental elements distinguishing Indigenous communities from mainstream American culture. This degree also enables learners to explore persistent contrasts between Native and non-Native populations through diverse educational approaches, incorporating hands-on and community-based learning experiences.

The program's objectives serve to fulfill these overarching aims:

equip students with conceptual frameworks and practical methods from various fields addressing Native concerns in education, language preservation, economics, legal systems, governance, leadership, philosophy, psychology, creative arts, and media;
offer meaningful academic experiences beyond traditional classroom settings;
guide students in connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world application via fieldwork or research projects; and
foster ongoing discussions and partnerships between students, educators, and Indigenous communities to continually enhance the Native Studies program.
