The Bachelor of Arts in Dance provides a comprehensive approach to dance education within a liberal arts framework. Graduates with a B.A. in Dance gain strong preparation for advanced studies or professional paths in Dance Education, Dance History/Criticism, and Dance Performance. The program features two specialization tracks: Contemporary Dance and Flamenco. Those selecting the Flamenco concentration are encouraged to attend the University of New Mexico's annual Flamenco Festival for two summer sessions each June. Additionally, students can pursue minors in Dance, Flamenco, or World Dance. Prospective Dance majors must audition on the final Friday of January. All dance students must participate in Tuesday evening auditions for faculty and guest artist performances, with casting requiring mandatory participation in these productions.
