This program prepares students for pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, and pre-dental tracks, along with those in the Combined BA/MD Program and individuals pursuing MS or PhD degrees in the field. It centers on the chemical study of biological systems, examining core substances, reactions, metabolic pathways, and molecular information transfer—particularly focusing on carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. Coursework covers bio-organic chemistry, protein studies, bioanalytical techniques, bioseparation methods, regulatory biochemistry, enzymology, hormone chemistry, thermal analysis, and research methodologies with instrumentation training.
