Nationally acclaimed for its hands-on learning approach, the University of New Haven provides a rigorous 30-credit master's program in mechanical engineering. Engage in practical learning experiences both in and beyond traditional classroom settings, covering subjects like thermodynamics, computer-aided design, advanced fluid dynamics, vibration analysis, and other specialized topics. The curriculum is enriched by cutting-edge facilities such as our instrumentation lab, thermo/fluids research center, solar energy testing facility, and additional advanced resources.
Students can tailor their final requirements by selecting either a research thesis or applied project, focusing on their preferred specialization area. Benefit from intimate class sizes, typically limited to 15 students, ensuring personalized attention. The program encourages independent research initiatives - recent cohorts have investigated timely subjects like sustainable energy solutions, examining solar water heating technologies, wind power generation systems, and heat pipe applications in solar collector designs.
Candidates for admission to the master’s program are normally expected to have a grade average of “B” (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better in their undergraduate coursework.
TOEFL of 75, or IELTS of 6.0, or PTE of 50 is required.
Application deadline: Spring Deadline - November 15 (Priority Application Deadlines).
