The Bachelor of Arts in English and Music enables students to tailor their education by combining studies across two distinct fields. Graduates receive one degree with dual majors, appearing on a single diploma and transcript. Completing both majors demands at least 120 credits while satisfying each program's requirements. Students can apply for the second major starting their sophomore year. Maintaining a 3.00 overall GPA is mandatory for continuation and graduation, with a 2.50 minimum in combined major courses. Prospective double majors must formally apply through the Registrar's Office, and this option isn't available during initial enrollment.

The essay is an opportunity for us to get to know you as a person, not just your grades and test scores. It also gives us an example of how you express yourself and demonstrates your ability to organize your thoughts. The personal essay should be between 250 and 650 words on a topic of your choice.
All non-native English speaking undergraduate international applicants must demonstrate English language competency in one of the following ways BEFORE they can enroll in a degree program at the University of New Haven:
