Applied mathematics is a dynamic discipline that utilizes sophisticated mathematical and computational techniques to tackle intricate challenges across science, engineering, business, and social domains. A master's program in applied mathematics merges advanced coursework in mathematical applications with practical research mentored by faculty advisors, concluding with either a thesis or a capstone project.
The University of New Hampshire's MS in Applied Mathematics offers concentrated instruction in mathematical applications and specialized domains, delivering graduate-level education and research opportunities more efficiently than doctoral programs. Our faculty possess extensive knowledge in diverse applied mathematics fields, covering numerical analysis, fluid mechanics, signal analysis, dynamic systems, and aircraft aerodynamics.
International applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as a precondition for applying to any of our graduate programs. In some cases, you may also need a master’s degree or its equivalent.
Applicants must have completed significant coursework in pure or applied mathematics, preferably including numerical analysis, differential equations, real analysis, and complex analysis.
