Our Master of Arts in English Studies program provides you with the chance to master various aspects of the English language, encompassing spoken, written, and digital forms. Within a collaborative environment, you'll refine essential abilities in research, analytical reasoning, and compelling composition—valuable assets for your career path, whether you aim to pursue doctoral studies or other professional endeavors. The curriculum invites you to examine a wide range of texts through historical, cultural, and international perspectives while deepening your appreciation for literary techniques and audience interpretation. Specific classes enable you to investigate racial representations in literature, gain proficiency in critical theories, and study the evolution of publishing from traditional print to modern digital formats.
International applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as a precondition for applying to any of our graduate programs. In some cases, you may also need a master’s degree or its equivalent.
English Language Score:
Minimum score requirements are as follows: TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5; TOEFL ITP (Institution Administered): On case-by-case basis; TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): On case-by-case basis; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59.
Applications must be completed by the following deadlines in order to be reviewed for admission: Fall: July 1 (final); Spring: Dec. 1 (final); Summer: April 1 (Admission only).
