Our juris doctor program emphasizes hands-on learning through practice-focused courses led by distinguished faculty members, most with significant professional experience. Students gain practical skills through live-client clinics and an expansive legal externship program. Eligible participants may join the innovative Daniel Webster Scholar initiative, the nation's sole competency-based alternative to traditional bar exams. Webster Scholars develop expertise through realistic simulations and actual legal work—including client consultations, attorney collaborations, deposition taking, court appearances, and mediation—while compiling evaluative portfolios each term. Graduates of this program are admitted to the New Hampshire Bar prior to commencement, enabling immediate legal practice.
