Our juris doctor program emphasizes practical learning, with courses led by distinguished faculty members who bring substantial professional experience. The curriculum includes live-client clinics and an expansive legal externship program, offering valuable hands-on training in real-world settings. Eligible students may participate in the innovative Daniel Webster Scholar program, the nation's sole competency-based alternative to the bar exam. Participants develop their abilities through simulations and actual legal work—advising clients, collaborating with attorneys, conducting depositions, appearing in court, and mediating disputes—while compiling semester portfolios for bar examiner review. Graduates of the DWS program are admitted to the New Hampshire Bar prior to commencement, enabling them to begin practicing law immediately after graduation.
