The interdisciplinary graduate certificate in feminist studies is tailored for working professionals and graduate students from various disciplines at UNH who wish to engage with feminist scholarship and incorporate feminist perspectives into their field-specific research. This program immerses you in key debates and methodological approaches within feminist theory while exploring intersections between gender and other identity markers including sexuality, race, class, nationality, disability, and religion. You'll be able to focus your studies and research on areas aligned with your professional aspirations, such as social justice movements, literary analysis, political philosophy, or gerontology.
UNH's Graduate Certificate in Feminist Studies offers a structured, cross-disciplinary approach to feminist scholarship. Students can pursue this certification either as part of their graduate degree program or as an independent credential after completing an accredited bachelor's degree.
This certificate program equips participants with valuable feminist theoretical frameworks and insights into modern feminist activism, enhancing both personal growth and professional capabilities. It facilitates specialized research in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies while drawing upon critical perspectives from race, ethnicity, class, age, religious, and disability studies.
International applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as a precondition for applying to any of our graduate programs. In some cases, you may also need a master’s degree or its equivalent.

Minimum score requirements are as follows: TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5; TOEFL ITP (Institution Administered): On case-by-case basis; TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): On case-by-case basis; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59.
Applications must be completed by the following deadlines in order to be reviewed for admission: Fall: July 1; Spring: Dec. 1; Summer: April 1.
