Our biochemistry Ph.D. program equips you with advanced skills for careers in biotech firms, pharmaceutical industries, research facilities, and academic institutions. The curriculum offers in-depth training in biochemistry and allied fields, coupled with cutting-edge interdisciplinary research spanning biochemistry, molecular biology, and cellular biology. Early in the program, lab rotations provide hands-on experience with our modern research equipment and facilities. The program features weekly graduate seminars and a distinguished speaker series hosted by the department.
The Biochemistry Ph.D. integrates a demanding academic framework with pioneering research opportunities across biochemistry, molecular biology, and cellular biology. Program alumni are prepared for prominent roles in biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, government and academic research institutions, as well as rewarding careers in university-level teaching and scientific investigation.
Students must have a completion of foundational courses in biology, chemistry (including organic chemistry), physics, and mathematics.
International applicants must hold a four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent as a precondition for applying to any of our graduate programs. In some cases, you may also need a master’s degree or its equivalent.

Minimum score requirements are as follows: TOEFL (Computer-based): 213; TOEFL (Internet-based): 80; IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 6.5; TOEFL ITP (Institution Administered): On case-by-case basis; TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication): On case-by-case basis; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 59.
