Combining psychology and biology, neuropsychology investigates how biological factors shape human behavior and cognition. This expanding discipline explores both normal brain processes such as awareness and recall, along with challenging neurological issues including movement impairments, emotional disturbances, cognitive decline, and substance dependence. Significant mysteries remain regarding how the brain influences growth, focus regulation, anxiety, thinking abilities, and other functions.
UNH Manchester's neuroscience-focused psychology program offers students more hands-on laboratory work compared to conventional psychology curricula. Research forms the core of our approach, connecting students and professors in advanced facilities to collaborate on meaningful studies ranging from head injuries to neurodegenerative disorders. Under the mentorship of clinically experienced faculty, neuropsychology students investigate abnormal mental states, neurological illnesses, and drug- or disease-related physiological alterations. Our tailored course pathways enable students to meet pre-medical prerequisites, equipping them for advanced study in medicine and careers in clinical neuroscience, psychological counseling, rehabilitation therapy, and medical support professions.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
