This program is designed for students aiming to utilize computer technologies to address the information requirements of people and organizations. Grounded in core principles, the curriculum equips students with the expertise and abilities necessary to confidently enter this dynamic field. Along with a robust scientific foundation, students cultivate advanced programming capabilities, analytical problem-solving techniques, and conceptual reasoning skills. The IT program prepares graduates with practical knowledge they can immediately apply in professional roles and, ultimately, in leadership positions within the industry.
Students gain hands-on experience at the UNH InterOperability Lab, testing networking equipment from leading tech firms while acquiring valuable practical training. Research opportunities are available through capstone projects and independent studies. Numerous UNH student organizations align perfectly with IT majors, including the Cyber Security Club, Linux Club, and Wildcat Women in Computer Science. Additionally, the Programming Assistance Center provides convenient walk-in help and academic support.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
English Language Score:
Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
