Environmental sciences is a multidisciplinary area that examines how biological, chemical, and physical processes influence our natural world. In the ecosystems specialization, learners explore relationships between organisms and their surroundings across diverse habitats such as woodlands, meadows, waterways, and urban settings. The program highlights human effects on land and water systems along with strategies to address ecological challenges.
The University of New Hampshire stands at the forefront of ecosystem-related environmental research. Scholars gain from extensive faculty knowledge spanning nutrient cycles, environmental chemistry, ecological systems, climate change, water studies, plant biology, earth sciences, and aquatic resource conservation. Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
