This in-depth program equips students to thrive as professional chemists in industrial settings while also laying a solid groundwork for advanced studies in chemistry or allied disciplines such as materials science and pharmaceutical sciences. The Bachelor of Science degree delivers intensive education across chemistry's core areas (analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry). Participants acquire hands-on laboratory skills in molecular synthesis and analysis, instrumental techniques, physical chemistry experiments and data interpretation, and spectroscopic methods.
The Chemistry Department's Honors Program adheres to the standards set by UNH's Honors Program. Students must complete sixteen credits of Honors coursework within Chemistry (CHEM prefix) to earn the Honors distinction. A minimum overall GPA of 3.2 is required to receive the Honors-in-Major designation.
