The Departmental Honors program (formerly called Honors in Major) enables students to engage in rigorous, specialized work within their academic disciplines. This initiative focuses on personalized, student-driven learning plans and fosters collaborative partnerships between undergraduates and professors.

Any UNH student meeting GPA requirements may participate in Departmental Honors. While University Honors Program participants must complete Departmental Honors to earn an Honors designation at graduation, UHP membership isn't required to pursue Departmental Honors.

The Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology Departmental Honors track allows high-achieving students to excel through demanding coursework and innovative research in their field. You'll collaborate directly with faculty members, delve deeper into your academic passions, and cultivate valuable skills for career advancement, graduate studies, or professional pursuits. Successful completion results in an Honors designation on your diploma, demonstrating scholarly achievement to potential employers and graduate admissions boards.
