For those dedicated to music education and pursuing an advanced degree, our accelerated program combines a Bachelor of Music with a Master of Arts in Teaching within five years. Following four years of undergraduate coursework, you'll complete a fifth-year internship and graduate studies to earn your teaching credentials. The curriculum encompasses music performance, theory, analysis, history, pedagogical techniques, and developmental psychology, with options to specialize in vocal or instrumental instruction. Music pedagogy forms the core of our mission. About 65% of our students major in music education, with all recent graduates securing teaching positions. At UNH, you'll learn from distinguished faculty with extensive K-12 teaching backgrounds. The program balances educational theory with hands-on practice, offering teaching opportunities through initiatives like the Summer Youth Music School and UNH Youth ensembles. You'll refine your artistry through private lessons, chamber music, and participation in top-tier regional performance groups.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
