Pursuing an Italian major allows you to explore how Italy's artistic heritage, culinary traditions, literary works, and films have profoundly influenced global culture. Throughout your studies, you'll develop fluency in Italian - a language spoken by 250 million people as a secondary tongue. As Europe's significant political and economic player with the seventh-largest global economy, Italy creates demand for bilingual professionals. Approximately 7,500 American corporations maintain business ties with Italy, while over 1,000 U.S. companies operate offices there.
The Italian studies curriculum cultivates advanced language skills and cultural understanding while enabling interdisciplinary applications. International learning experiences include internships and study-abroad options, featuring a specialized program in Rome.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
English Language Score:
Minimum TOEFL score is 80 (internet version), 550 (paper version), 213 (computer version); recommended minimum IELTS score is 6.5; recommend Duolingo score is 105 or higher.
