The HDFS Master of Science program's objective is to cultivate skilled, competent graduates equipped to join the workforce as specialized professionals with comprehensive understanding of lifespan development and family studies, while also being prepared for advanced academic pursuits if desired. The program strives to develop graduates proficient in relevant theories, research methodologies, and quality research practices, enabling them to comprehend existing HDFS literature and contribute new knowledge through their own investigations.
We aim to prepare graduates for careers requiring:
Understanding of human biological, cognitive, and socio-emotional development throughout life stages,
Expertise in family systems and dynamics, Effective communication skills for working with individuals and families,
Evaluation and enhancement of resources for individuals, families, and communities,
Capability to educate about developmental processes and family relationships, Skills to integrate educational, preventive, and early intervention approaches, and Competence to work across generations and with diverse family structures.
