Our Master of Arts in Philosophy program offers comprehensive study across diverse philosophical fields, with special emphasis on current topics shaped by faculty research. Participants collaborate with an academic advisor to select the most suitable specialization path and curriculum based on their professional aspirations. The program provides both a General Philosophy concentration and an Ethics, Law, and Politics concentration, each available with thesis or non-thesis completion routes.
Degree candidates must complete designated coursework throughout their studies. Two distinct completion pathways exist for the M.A. degree, with credit requirements varying by chosen concentration. Prospective students should consult their advisor to determine the optimal path aligned with their educational and vocational goals.
Graduates will acquire the ability to: exhibit understanding of philosophical traditions, construct and analyze arguments,
and cultivate advanced analytical and innovative thinking skills.
Many of the students accepted into the M.A. program in philosophy have completed undergraduate philosophy majors or minors, though we also accept students with degrees in related areas and students with compelling interests or strong undergraduate backgrounds.
Minimum score requirements: TOEFL: 550 (paper) or 79 (internet), IELTS: 6.5 (academic version).
Application deadlines: March 1 (Fall) | Nov 1 (Spring)
