The Geography Department provides a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Geotechnologies. This specialization focuses on developing expertise in geo-spatial techniques. Students will enhance abilities such as: analytical reasoning, visual presentation, research methodologies, verbal and written communication, along with mathematical and statistical competencies. Those pursuing the Geotechnologies track will master the tools, techniques, and software required for handling and interpreting spatial data. Internship credits may be applied toward degree requirements. The curriculum aligns with qualifications for GIS Professional (GISP) certification from the GIS Certification Institute. This track is ideal for students aiming for careers as GIS/Remote Sensing Analysts, Cartographers, Planners, or pursuing advanced studies in Geography or related Geotechnology disciplines. A minor is mandatory for all students.
Graduates will gain the ability to:
